The cuddly Johann is named after Johannes Gutenberg (b. circa 1400, d. 1468 AD), the inventor of the printing press using movable type technology.  He built his wooden press in his printshop in Mainz, Germany, in 1450.  Gutenberg's invention has been regarded as the most important development in the history of humanity and changed the world - in communication, economy, education, art, as well as geo-political aspects.  He was named "The Man of The Millennium" in 2000.  Size:  11".
